For more information about Keep Smyrna Beautiful and the Adopt-A-Mile program, visit https://keepsmyrnabeautiful.com/ ![]() Did you know that the American Legion Post 160 is part of the Adopt-A-Mile program in Smyrna?! Well of course we are! Giving back to our community by Keeping Smyrna Beautiful is one of the things we do!
This program is an ALL-FAMILY POST 160 program, meaning everyone is invited to help, whether you are a member of the SAL, ALA, or AL. The next clean-up date is for April 17th at 10am. Meet at Post 160 to receive your safety vest, garbage grabber, and trash bags. Our mile is located along the west side of S. Cobb drive from King Springs to Cooper Lake road. The plan of attack is to split into equal groups starting at each point and work toward each other. We typically finish in less than 2 hours, provided we have plenty of volunteers. We are looking for 20 Volunteers, (with masks) so we can split up into two teams of 10 (no more than 10 in a group for social distancing guidelines). Every volunteer who participates will get a raffle ticket for their chance to win one of 2 $25.00 Kroger gift cards, good for food or fuel! |

American Legion Post 160 has a rich history and is, every day, building on the traditions of service in Smyrna and becoming a more dynamic place in the heart of Smyrna.
Legionnaires of Post 160 represent locally America's largest veterans service organization that works every day to uphold time-honored values of Service, Patriotism, and Camaraderie. Post 160 is more than a building where people meet, and events are held - it is a family of volunteers serving the community. Post 160 also hosts a Squadron of the Sons of the American Legion and a Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary. All collaborate "steadfastly, side by side, promoting patriotism and national security while supporting youth and advocating for veterans and active duty military." Though each group is unique, each group is part of the whole that cares for Smyrna and its veterans, their families and all youth through a variety of methods. CALENDAR
COVID RELATED RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
Wearing a face mask is required by an Executive Order of the Mayor of Smyrna. We are all in this together and that includes being selfish and keeping our germs to ourselves! See the Mask Mandate below. If you want to come for dinner but want to avoid the crowds, come at 5pm and enjoy an early (and quiet) dinner. The Social Quarters begin to get crowded at 7pm. As a benefit to members and guests, Post 160 is conducting contact tracing therefore, EVERYONE must check-in at our health-check station, located in the entry hallway before enjoying activities at the Post. All dinners must be ordered by 9 PM and order early before the limited dinner specials are sold out. "First Come, First Served." (No "reserving" a meal for later.) Post 160 is very appreciative of the Georgia Honor Guard and its members who help monitor the entrance to the Social Quarters. If you are interested in helping staff the check-in station, reach out to Commander Lnenicka: (Post) 770-436-2501 post160commander@gmail.com |
